The story behind the lyrics
Leonardo Dias Marzano is an Italian-Brazilian writer based in Italy, dedicated to psychological and ritualistic horror. His work blends emotional realism with slow, suffocating tension, keeping the reader suspended between rational doubt and the possibility of the supernatural.
After studying at different universities in Brazil, Leonardo relocated to Italy, where he began developing the long-term literary project that would define his authorial voice: The Legacy of Rosedale, a collection of five interconnected novels written in reverse chronological order.
Among his works is Silence at the Lake House, a psychological and atmospheric horror novel that explores isolation, silence, and the emotional deterioration of a family living by a lake avoided by the town—an embodiment of his approach to restrained, ambiguous, character-driven terror.
His stories pursue fear not through shock, but through the erosion of memory, identity, and sanity, creating dense atmospheres, fractured characters, and narratives open to multiple interpretations.
Currently, Leonardo is completing the Rosedale series and preparing the first volume, Shadow of the Library, for international submission. Living in Verona alongside his wife, he continues to expand the Marzano Universe, with a focus on structured, cinematic, character-centered horror.
For Leonardo, writing is more than expression—it is a disciplined craft, a long-term commitment, and a way of confronting the shadows we choose not to see.
